Pantenger Gardenia Oolong is naturally grown on a single estate in the producing region of Songbolin, Taiwan. Considered one of the most refined of the scented teas, it is crafted in a two-step method of processing and scenting.

Processing: The process starts at the tea garden where only the most talented tea pickers choose the best leaves. Then at the tea factory, the tea master selects the right level of oxidation and crafts the tea to obtain a refined floral flavor and aroma.

Scenting: this stage begins when the gardenia flowers are ready to bloom. The flowers are hand picked. At the tea factory, the dried Oolong tea is then blended with the gardenia petals overnight to allow the leaves to absorb the aroma. The following morning, the petals are removed by hand. The process is repeated for four to seven days. Finally, the tea is shaped into pearls to lock in the gardenia aroma.

About Gardenia Oolong Tea

This tea is produced by a family owned tea state that cooperates with neighboring farmers to produce an impressive array of naturally cultivated tea in the historical tea growing region of Songbolin in Taiwan. Their ideology of natural farming methods combined with their comprehensive knowledge of tea production enables them to produce this exclusive tea.

The Oolong tea leaves are blended with hand-picked Gardenia flowers in a post production process. The distinct yet compatible qualities of a flower essence combined with a rich Oolong character offer an exquisite brew.

The beauty of this batch of tea is that you can sit down and brew it and marvel at the intricacies of a traditionally made Oolong combined with a flower essence to produce a heady, complex, almost magical brew. Or you can just toss some of these leaves and flowers in your water bottle and let it sit for a couple of hours at room temperature or in the fridge overnight, and enjoy it all day. And it only gets better as the day goes on.

Brewed Pantenger Gardenia Oolong is balanced, sweet, floral and fresh. The liquor is golden yellow. It can be infused up to 3 times.

1st infusion: add 2 to 3 grams (around 20 rolled leaves) per tea standard tea cup size water measure into a teapot or infuser.

If you are using a mug or large cup please use 30 to 35 rolled leaves.

If you are using an infuser it should be big enough to allow the leaves to expand. Add water at 185ºF and brew for three minutes.

Second and third infusion: increase the temperature by 5ºF per infusion.
