About Back Orchid Tea
The Black Orchid (Alishan High Mountain Black Tea) is made from leaves of the Qing Xin Oolong strain that is used to make high grade Oolong Tea, both the lightly oxidized unroasted "High Mountain Tea" and the traditionally made well oxidized and roasted DongDing Oolong Tea.
This strain is generally considered by local professionals and experienced Oolong Tea lovers to offer the most subtle complexity and distinctive aftertaste. It provides that salivating effect at the back of the palate, as well as the finish in the nose. It may not always be heady and bold, but it is that dry, complex finish that makes Qing Xin stand apart. So even when it is made into a fully oxidized Black Tea, there is that next level of complexity, subtlety, and lingering aftertaste that put it in a class of its own.
Brewing a perfect cup:
A great cup of tea requires three elements: great tea, water and a tea master (you).
The right amount of tea is 1 teaspoon (2 to 3 grams) / 6 Fl. Oz. of water (185°F – 200°F).
Brew for 3 to 4 minutes.
Strain and add more water for a second infusion.
Water quality: filtered or spring water is recommended. Water containing high amounts of minerals or excess chlorine will make your tea tasteless.
